‘Maths – It Is Rocket Science’ Following on from overwhelmingly positive feedback on the course in 2012, the European Space Education Office (ESERO) Ireland, is offering places for teachers on a 5 day professional development course at three unique space related locations. The course ‘Maths – It is rocket science’ will take place in Birr, Cork and Dublin from 1st to 5th July. The objective of the course is to assist participants in using teaching approaches that develop numeracy skills in an integrated way across the curriculum, specifically through Science and Geography, with an emphasis on the theme of Space. 2012 ESA/GTTP teacher training
ESA is teaming up again with the Galileo Teacher Training Programme (GTTP) to organise the third in a series of training workshops for science teachers. The 2012 workshop, aimed at teachers of students between 11 and 19 years of age, will be held from 14 to 17 February at ESA’s European Space Astronomy Centre, near Madrid, Spain. |

Teachers Astronomy Workshop Mayo Education Centre in association with the Mayo County Council Science week are delighted to announce a unique hands-on workshop for teachers to engage with astronomers from the Chabot Space & Science Center, (CSSC) in California on Monday 29th November 2010.Web of Stars is a computer based classroom workshop, using free offline software (Stellarium and Salsa J) to enable students to survey the sky and then produce their own astronomy images from real image data acquired from observatories. |

2010 ESA/GTTP Workshop for Science Teachers ESA along with the Galileo Teacher Training Programme are organising a workshop for science teachers at the NEMO Science Centre, Amsterdam, the Netherlands, from 7–10 December 2010. The workshop is aimed at science teachers of students aged between 11 and 19 years old.
